All our courses are held outdoors.
PRIVATE COURSES FOR GROUPS
We have many years of experience catering to groups big and small and on every budget. Learning to kite on the snow is easier than learning on the water, and depending on your experience, many people with some skiing experience manage to get a taste of snowkiting in just one day.
For our 1-day Intro to Snowkiting Class, we focus more on action and less on theory than on our ordinary two-day Beginner Snowkite Courses, and it is a great way to get a taste of snowkiting while being supervised by an experienced instructor.
On our 2-Day Group Courses we go through the same program as in our regular Beginner Courses. The aim of this course is to give the participants enough knowledge to continue on their own, while we have fun 🙂 In other words; become independent kiters.
We have kite gear for up to 16 people at a time, but if you have a bigger group on a weekend trip, it is possible to split the group into two parties on either Saturday or Sunday so that everyone gets to try.
You arrange your own accommodation and meet us on the kite-spot with your own ski gear and food for the day.
Our winter operations are headquartered at Haukeliseter Fjellstue, and we conduct most of our courses on on two frozen lakes in Haukelifjell Mountain Pass, in the immediate vicinity of Røldal and Vågslid were there are several accomodation options. You can also stay in your tent or campervan close to Haukeliseter (contact Haukeliseter for pricing).
There is a difference in weather at Haukelifjell, so there is often a weather option on either side of the Haukelifjell Mountains Weather Divide.
If you want courses elsewhere in the South and West, this is also possible, write this in the Location field when registering or contact us to find a suitable area near you.

Unfortunately we don´t have alpine skis or snowboards for rent at Haukeliseter.
If you need this then it is possible to rent:
- Arriving from the EAST (Oslo/Kristiansand)
- At Haukelifjell Ski Centre (10 min by car)
- Arriving from the WEST (Stavanger/Haugesund/Bergen)
- At Røldal Ski Centre (30 min by car)
If you need to rent ski gear vi recommend that you arrive by own car since you will have to pick up and deliver the gear yourself, before and after the course.

The following applies to our 2-Day Beginner Courses:
If there is too little or too much wind to complete a basic Beginner Course in 2 days, we are proud to offer our Wind Guarantee.
This entails that you will be offered to come back on a Beginner Course (on snow or on water) at a later date, exempt from the Course Fee*.
For activities of shorter duration, we are flexible enough to be able to offer to change the time or date of the activity OR give a full refund if the wind forecast the day before is of such a character as to not be feasible to carry out the planned activity.
With that being said, we are pretty good at finding wind at Haukelifjell, and have several distinctive spots to choose from that can be dramatically different from each other in different wind directions and weather conditions. The weather on the mountain changes quickly and the weather forecast can be quite variable right up to the day before. So unless there is an extreme weather event, we do not usually cancel courses in advance due to weather conditions, as experience shows that we can often find a spot with acceptable conditions.
*Board & Accommodation not included. For complete terms, see our Terms & Conditions.

YES, it is possible to take the bus to Haukeliseter.
Haukeliekspressen passes twice a day towards Oslo and twice a day towards Haugesund.
If we end up driving to any of the other spots than the one in walking distance from Haukeliseter, we always find room for individuals in some of the cars.
(If you come as a group of 4 or more, it will be best if you bring your own car.)
